With one foot planted in the Central American jungles and the other dipped in the Caribbean Sea, Belize blends the best of both worlds. Between national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and marine reserves, more than 40% of the country’s area is protected in one form or another, creating a haven for countless creatures of land, sea and sky.

Belize is home to the world’s second largest barrier reef, ancient Mayan Ruins, spectacular rivers, rainforests and wildlife. It has three of the only four true coral atolls found in the hemisphere. The marine life that inhabits the barrier reef is extraordinary and diverse… everything from schools of tarpon, turtles and stingrays to a wide variety of tropical species, and of course, the famed Blue Hole.

November to January are traditionally the coolest months with a 24c average and May to September are the warmest at about a 28c average, the overall climate of Belize can be described as sub-tropical. The humidity while high, is seldom oppressive for long and is most noticeable along the coast. The average humidity is 83%, but many days the humidity is masked by the cooling sea breezes.
