Dive the world renowned Blue Hole of Belize from the World renowned liveaboard Belize Aggressor III

aggressor_three_belizeThe Aggressor Fleet's “Mission Statement” is “to provide scuba divers with the highest quality, most innovative and safest live-aboard experience possible, to offer unparalleled customer service and the most comfortable dive yachts, accessing the best diving locations around the world” and the Belize Aggessor III certainly has the potential to fulfill.

Every Saturday, the luxurious Belize Aggressor III casts off from Belize City for a week of hassle-free wall diving at Turneffe and Lighthouse Reefs. Sheer walls like Painted Wall, Half Moon Caye Wall and Quebrada are adorned with huge crimson gorgonians and wandering, lilac rope sponges. Weather permitting, divers explore the mystical Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater cave system that’s rated as one of the top 10 dives sites in the world.

sunset_and_jacuzzi_belize_aggressor_threeThe Belize Aggressor III sleeps 18 guests in privacy and comfort. She features a roomy, air conditioned salon and dining area, sun deck complete with a hot tub, lounge and deck chairs, stereo and CD player, shaded wet bar and grill, a complete photo centre with a digital video and still photo editing computer.

All staterooms are air-conditioned and fitted with private toilets, showers and sinks. The yacht is equipped with hairdryers in each stateroom. Linens are changed mid-week and fresh towels are placed in each stateroom as needed.

There are several options of airlines and routes but unfortunately nothing direct, an overnight stay is often required on either the outbound or inbound leg of your journey, this could be in Miami or Houston depending on your chosen airline.

When you enquire we will chat through the options that are available to you at the time.

food_onboard_belize_aggressorThe onboard menu is varied and plentiful, with a variety of American feasts, barbecues and local cuisine. You will awaken to fresh fruits, hot entrees, cereals and juices. Lunches are buffet-style, featuring hot soups, homemade breads, salads and sandwiches and/or entrees.

Dinners are served each evening and include salads, vegetables, seafood, beef or chicken with a fresh homemade dessert. Once onboard, please speak to the chef about any special needs. Certain special dietary and beverage requests may not be available due to the remote nature of this location.

The Aggressor’s selection of drinks include fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, coffee, and a limited selection of local beer and wine, which are complimentary. Due to the high duty charged on liquor, we suggest you bring your special brand from the UK. Due to local regulations; the bar will be closed while the boat is in port. Drinking and diving do not mix. Once you consume alcohol, you become a snorkeler until the next day.

Ancient Mayan temples that tell the tale of past civilizations. Lush rain forests and jungles. Crystal rivers and glistening caves. Belize is rich in natural beauty and culture. Tours are available Friday afternoon when the Aggressor returns to port, however, an extended stay on the mainland is recommended to truly appreciate all Belize has to offer.

Chat to us before you book to see what extension suits you.

dive_deck_belize_aggressorDive sites are selected by the Captain and may vary due to weather conditions and location.

Throughout the week you will dive at Turneffe and Lighthouse Reefs. Sheer walls like Painted Wall, Half Moon Caye Wall and Quebrada are adorned with huge crimson gorgonians and wandering, lilac rope sponges. Weather permitting; divers explore the mystical Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater cave system.

Five dives a day are the norm, diving begins Sunday morning and ends Friday before lunch when the Aggressor returns to port. The crew hosts a sunset cocktail party at 5:30pm then dinner ashore. Saturday morning at 8:00am, you are transferred to the Belize Airport or a local hotel.

Our relatively experienced group organise a dive trip each winter, usually the Red Sea but we've also been to the Maldives, Caribbean & Thailand. This year we decided to travel further afield than usual and booked the Aggressor III in Belize via Oonasdivers. Organising & booking the trip was hassle free, with the numerous queries we raised rapidly resolved. We travelled to Belize City via an overnight stopover in Houston and were delighted to find that the 12 of us had the boat, which takes 18, to ourselves. There were 5 dives a day, including night dives, and 2 on the last day; the sites were varied and the visibility was a most welcome 30m. Curiously, the Blue Hole dive was a bit of a disappointment to us as the viz was poor (which is not unusual apparently), the enormous stalactites at 40m were very impressive but apart from those and the temperature it wasn't dissimilar to Dorothea. The reefs were in excellent condition with varied life and gorgeous colours, although the number of Lion fish was rather concerning. The top dive for me must have been the one commencing with a dolphin cruising past, then a shark a few metres below us followed by 20 minutes swimming with 2 turtles that couldn't have cared less about our presence. The night dives, all of which were excellent, were scheduled for after the evening meal. This was the first boat we've been on with draught beer and over a few beverages on the first night we concluded that we'd prefer to eat (and drink) after the night dive, a request which was readily accommodated by the crew for the rest of the week. The cabins were the height of luxury (with a TV in each room although ours spent the week switched off) and the deck and inside areas lacked nothing. The kitting up area might be a bit cramped with a full boat but was fine for us, the hot showers on the dive platform and hot towels after each dive are an excellent touch. The food was superb, as were the snacks which appeared as if by magic after each dive, fresh Lion fish snacks are highly recommended. The normally tedious pre flight day was filled with a trip to local Mayan ruins organised by the Aggressor crew with a very knowledgeable local guide, although Belize City itself didn't appear to have much to offer. A great week away, made even more enjoyable at that time of year due to the contrast with the weather at home. Peter Ellwood
