A great adventure for those who want a different style of dive experience.
Situated on an extensive lagoon just above Ras Banas and pretty much as far south as you can stay on the southern Red Sea in land based accommodation this unique ‘deep south’ village is owned by the most professional and experienced pioneers along this coastline – Red Sea Diving Safari.
Wadi Lahami’s position on the edge of Wadi El Gamal national park, and alongside a protected mangrove area makes this village particularly special for its birds and wild life. Sighting of Sea Eagles are very common in these parts, and passing camels taking lunch, a dip, and sometimes a drink from the equipment rinsing stations aren’t that unusual.
Smaller and quieter than her sister villages Shagra & Nakari with just 16 Chalets, 20 Tents, 4 Royal Tents and catering for just 48 divers at any one time the experience here will be intimate and personal.
The diving at Wadi Lahami is suitable for all levels of experience, with over 25 dive sites to choose from the Fury Shoals really does offer something for everyone, it has been said that this area offers some of the best examples of coral formations in the world.
Beach Safari Tents
Next to the waters edge, these spacious twin bedded tents have electricity and share modern toilet and shower facilities. A great choice for those who enjoy an expeditionary feel and briefly wish to leave the western world behind. Inside each tent there are 2 beds a metre apart and you are supplied with 2 sheets, blankets (not necessary in summer) and a pillow per person.
Taking a small torch may prove useful at night should you need to go to the bathroom.
Royal Tents
Royal tents are the ideal choice for couples, being almost twice the size of a normal tent and include the choice of either a double bed or twins. They have a floor standing fan, mini-fridge, wardrobe, bean bag seats and table, with a small table and chairs situated outside – perfect for catching the early morning sunrise. They share the same bathroom facilities as the standard tents.
Madyafa Guest Houses
Built in the same attractive Arabic style as the Mandarahs, they are more spacious with en-suite facilities. The term Madyafa comes from the ancient Egyptian era. Facilities include twin or double beds, wardrobe, a side table, dressing table with mirror, shower, toilet and terrace. The Madyafa is 40 metres square divided into two by 24 metres square rooms inside with domed roofs. In addition there are two terraces, front and rear, each measure 8 metres square, which have bamboo chairs. The terraces have a mountain view and a sea view.

Desert Excursions & Astrology
Red Sea Desert Adventures offer you a unique experience for Eastern Desert excursions with visits to Al Shelatin camel market, or mountain trips to Pharaonic, Ptolemaic and Roman ruins or gold and emerald mines.
From this superb location you are directly opposite the multitude of stunning offshore reefs collectively known as Fury Shoal.
Your diving day typically starts with breakfast being served from 6am for a 7am departure to the off shore reefs of the Fury Shoals for your 2 guided dives. On arrival at the 1st chosen dive site you will receive your briefing on board, after the 1st dive tea, coffee, water and cake are served as you take your surface interval before moving on to your 2nd dive of the morning.
Return to the village is roughly 12pm, after lunch, the obligatory and pleasurable dive dissection and a siesta, a 3rd dive as buddy pairs is available at one of the more local reefs from which you will return around 4.30pm. Should you have any energy left a night dive is available, again as buddy pairs from approximately 7pm.
In some sea conditions the journey to the morning off shore dive sites can be quiet physically demanding and may not be suitable for people with back problems.
