Smaller in size but not in character, this recently refurbished first generation of Red Sea liveaboards allows you to explore the Southern Red Sea including St John's and the Fury Shoals during a 3 night mini safari and is perfect to combine with Marsa Shagra, Marsa Nakari, Wadi Lahami or the Azur Resort.
Built in 1999 and fully refitted and upgraded in 2011, the 27 metre Blue Planet 1 offers you the opportunity to dive the sites of Southern Red Sea during a 3 night mini safari, perfect for those that wish to combine a liveaboard and a land based resort.
Sleeping up to a maximum of 16 guests Blue Planet 1 offers 8 twin bedded cabins all ensuite and all A/C.
There’s a comfortable lounge and dining area with TV, DVD and CD player.
Outside you can find a spacious shaded cushioned sundeck and 2 sunbathing platforms allowing ample space for relaxation. The well designed and recently refurbished dive platform offers a charging station for your torch and camera batteries, equipment rinsing facilities and on deck showers.
There are flights available from Gatwick to Marsa Alam each Thursday (up to the end of April 2012) and each Wednesday (from May 2012 onwards). Alternatively it is possible to fly from Gatwick to Hurghada on a Sunday, Monday or Friday or from Manchester to Hurghada on a Friday
Included within your charter are 3 freshly prepared meals a day, selected snacks between dives, bottled soft drinks, mineral water, tea and coffee.
Extras available to purchase on board are local wines, beers, mixers and diet drinks.
From any of the Blue Planet liveaboards its easy to extend your stay, maybe a week relaxing in a luxury beach front hotel, a cultural visit to Luxor or even a Nile Cruise.
Please ask your tour advisor prior to booking of what could be available.
Upon arrival you will be led aboard and receive your boat briefing whilst your evening meal is being prepared. During dinner you have the chance to meet your fellow divers and chat about the reefs you’re likely to visit.
The following morning after breakfast Blue Planet 1 aims to leave port between 8am and 9am, but departure time is in the hands of the coast guard so please allow an hour either way.
For the Blue Planet 1 Southern Mini Safari there are a few restrictions and some recommendations on dive qualification and logged dives.
