Alam Anda Resort & Spa

The Alam Anda has been an insider tip for many years and today it almost has a cult status. On the north east coast of Bali, hidden behind coconut and orange plantations and far away from all other tourists The Alam Anda Dive & Spa Resort lies directly by the sea.

Here it’s possible to still find the original Bali with its culture and the typical living habits of the Balinese people. On the almost empty beaches you might occasionally meet a fisherman or local children playing, but rarely see other tourists.

The Alam Anda Dive Resort & Spa is located in approx 2 hectares of large palm garden, with hundreds of shady coconut and Lontar palm trees,Kambodjas, Eucalyptus and banana trees.

Alam Anda is just a two and a half hour drive from Denpasar airport and passes by rice terraces, temples and small villages, it's an ideal opportunity to receive that first impression of the beautiful landscape and the diverse culture of Bali.

Alam Anda offer some beautiful and simple accommodation styles that will suit almost all needs and budgets, some villas are ideal for sharing with family or friends and a few offer complete privacy. Accommodation is based on bed & breakfast however half and full board upgrades are available at a reasonable price.

Flights are available from several airlines, the most common route being via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore then a connecting flight onto Bali, please discuss your preferred flight options with one of our tour advisors.

Transfer time from the airport to Alam Anda is 2.5 hours.

Alam Anda can offer you a variety of options to suit all palettes, from the Pool bar where you can grab a snack and drinks, the Lobby bar that offers fresh Bintang draft beer, a wide choice of Australian wines, and nearly 30 various cocktails and mocktails through to the to the new, open-air restaurant, "Enak" (Indonesian for sumptious).

The pool bar (a natural stone/rock swimming pool) serves light as well as more substantial snacks, from bruschetta with salad to crispy pizza, and the fresh fruit juices are in a class of their own.

The Enak’s menu offers traditional Indonesian and Balinese food, international cuisine, and naturally, fresh fish or shrimp salad, so should a  Soto Ayam soup be a little too exotic you can still grab some potato wedges, chips and Vienna sausages!

For those who really need to be spoilt the chefs at Alam Anda will also gladly serve you, on request, delicious speciality cuisine and drinks, in your private bungalow, junior suite or villa, for a minimal extra cost.

Alam Anda organises half or full day tours through the local villages of the area, including trips to Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali. Adventure trips are also on offer ranging from trekking Bali’s mountains to rafting down the Ayung Stream.

For those who wish to take some of their experience home you can also learn to cook the exotic Indonesian way, classes start at 4pm on each Saturday.

Diving at Alam Anda is available either as “Unlimited House Reef” or a 3, 5 or 10 day “Guided Dive” package, by car and/or boat, the guided package includes 2 dives daily as well as access to the house reef. Please note that for Batu Kelebit there is a local charge of €10 made, and nightdives on the SS Liberty €15.

The House Reef

There is a very good house reef directly in front of the diving centre where even the most experienced of divers have the opportunity to encounter something new, as well as being a real haven for all those underwater photographers.

There are 3 entry and exit points on the house reef and several dive profiles you can choose from, and you don’t even need to carry your own cylinders to or from these points, this is all arranged for you locally at the dive centre for a small fee of €0.50 per dive.

The reef covers the total width of the hotel ground and is a designated conservation area - the first of its kind in Bali. The government agreed this as an experiment and the local fishermen in the area are banned from using nets or harpoons, thus keeping the underwater world intact.

Diving Region

From Alam Anda it is possible to visit all the top dive sites in Bali. A large selection of dive sites can be reached within 20 minutes to 1 hour. Further highlights such as Nusa Menjangan and Secret Bay in the western part, are approximately 2.5 and 3.5 hours away. The south-easterly dive spot around Padangbai and Nusa Penida you can reach in about 2 to 2.5 hours drive.

Tulamben

The best known diving spot in Bali is in Tulamben, just 40 minutes from the diving centre by car. Here you will find the fascinating wreck of the “Liberty” a spectacular site for night dives as well. Just round the corner is Tulamben Drop Off, a lush overgrown wall that drops down to 60m and Coral Garden, a colourful coral landscape partly covered with huge sponges.
