Anse Chastanet encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. Not only do you get a World Heritage Site anchored by the twin peaks on land, the resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colourful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish.

If you are looking for an unusual dive destination with strong components of romance, creature comforts, adventure and dive professionalism, Anse Chastanet Resort should definitely be on your wish list. Make time to visit the terrestrial delights of the island, including near by wonders such as the Sulphur Springs, Diamond Waterfall and Mineral Baths, the Rain Forest and, of course, a closer view of the twin volcanic spires known as the Pitons.

Anse Chastanet offers 49 individually designed rooms, 37 of which are scattered about a lush hillside, and 12 which are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level.

Anse Chastanet emphasizes the use of local woods and other local products in the room decor and furnishings. Cushions and bedspreads are made from colourful cotton fabrics called madras, the island's "national cloth." Even the resort bathrobes are locally made and have become a popular souvenir item!

Some of the best dining in St. Lucia can be found at Anse Chastanet. An enticing selection of menus is available in a number of intimate hillside and beachside locations and also, you can pre-book private dining arrangements at the water's edge on Anse Chastanet beach or in our spa cottage Kai Mer overlooking the Caribbean.

Whether you fancy fine tropical Caribbean Cuisine, exotic Creole flavours, or simple grilled fare, you will find it available and more. The culinary options also include a St.Lucia- East Indian menu titled Apsara, a wholly vegetarian restaurant called Emerald's and last not least the Jungle Grill for day time laid back dining on the second beach Anse Mamin.

All of the kitchens here receive organic produce from the resorts farm Emerald's in the Soufriere hills.
Snorkelling
Anse Chastanet is situated in the heart of the St. Lucia marine reserves and virtually surrounded by most of the island's coral reefs which are excellent not only for scuba diving but also for snorkelling.

Windsurfing and Sunfish Sailing
The Anse Chastanet watersports centre offers guests windsurfers and sunfish sailing boats on complimentary basis. The resort beach attendants are able to provide beginner lessons if required. Being located on the calm Caribbean side of the island, the tropical breezes are gentle and easy to manage.

Ocean Kayaking
Kayaks are available on complimentary basis from the Anse Chastanet watersports centre. In addition, and against a charge, Anse Chastanet guests can also enjoy special "sit in" Prijon sea kayaks. Professionally trained guides provide first class training to newcomers to this sport.

Jungle Biking
Whether or not you are an absolute novice or experienced rider, biking in St. Lucia's exclusive 12 miles of private trails through the tropical jungle is "unique in the world of mountain biking" according to Tom Bierl, editor of Bike magazine.

Golf
The 18 hole Cap Estate Golf & Country Club welcomes non-members and also is located in the very North of the island. The resort can arrange a water-land taxi combination to get there.

Bird Watching
St Lucia is blessed with five species of bird found nowhere else on earth and four of them can be found within the grounds of Anse Chastanet with the fifth located not too far away.

Excursions
No St. Lucia visit is complete without a visit to St. Lucia's famous walk-in volcano, the Sulphur Springs and the waterfall and botanical gardens part of the Louis XVI Mineral Baths. There are many more excursions available including deep sea fishing, whale watching, horseback riding, around the island tours.

All dives offered by Scuba St Lucia are guided by an instructor or dive master to maximize diver safety and enjoyment.

The Anse Chastanet reef starts just 10 yards beyond the water's edge. The reef's remarkable ecosystem offers an amazing profusion of unusual tropical marine life, in 20 to 140 feet of calm, clear water.

The shore dive is a required "first" dive for dive guests. This reef is a favourite of most professional underwater photographers and videographers.

The boat dives offer dramatic walls beneath the majestic Piton Mountains, Superman's flight, a drift dive in the shadow of the Petit Piton, Coral Gardens and Jalousie under the Gros Piton, Piton Wall, the wreck of the "Lesleen M", Anse La Raye and Anse Cochon. The boats go closer to home for the afternoon boat trips but the dive sites are just as spectacular.

Night dives are offered at least twice weekly on Anse Chastanet's Reef, which really "wakes up" at night, with many interesting crustaceans on the move, large basket stars, sleeping parrot fish, octopus and squid, bioluminescence and the "THING".

The pace in St Lucia is always slow and relaxed, but the diving, activities are efficiently organized with the minimum of fuss.

PADI Courses
