Tobago is featured in many nature programmes for being rich in wildlife and having the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere. Speyside is also a fantastic diving location and home to the largest Brain Coral in the world!
Located off the coast of Venezuela, Tobago’s Aqua Marine Dive Centre and Blue Waters Inn has it all, both top side and underwater. Topside offers activities such as hiking, bird watching, touring one of the oldest protected rainforest in the western hemisphere and nearby waterfalls, tennis, or just relaxing on the secluded beach are just some of the many activities you can enjoy.
The diving in Speyside is probably the best in Tobago. The influence of Venezuela’s nutrient rich Orinoco river is a contributing factor to the reefs abundant marine and coral life. Visibility regularly reaches 100 plus feet with 80-100 feet being the norm. Every known species of hard coral and most of the soft corals, as well as the world’s largest known Brain Coral, 12 feet high and 16 feet across are found here.
Speyside also provides access to exciting sites such as: Angel Reef, Black Jack Hole, Book Ends, Japanese Gardens, Batteaux Bay Drift and Coral Gardens to name a few.
Blue Waters Inn sits amongst 46 acres of lush tropical grounds located 1 hour 15 minutes from Crown Point International Airport.
This wonderful beachfront low-rise boutique hotel tucked away in its own secluded bay in Speyside has 38 rooms; these include 3 Bungalows with either 1 or 2 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, and a large porch, 4 self catering apartments with either 1 or 2 bedrooms, and 31 standard single/double rooms. All rooms face the ocean and have a private shower/wc, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and a balcony or porch.

The cuisine of Tobago is indicative of the blends of Amerindian, European, African, Creole, Indian, Chinese and Lebanese gastronomic influences. Tobago’s most famous traditional dish is curried crab and dumplings, which you can find in a few restaurants and at informal outlets, also don't forget to try the traditional fish broth.
You can enjoy the cuisine at either of the two restaurants at Blue Waters Inn offering local and international cuisine or sample the tasty delights at a couple of local beach side restaurants.
Tobago is famous for it’s varied bird population. You will be able to see many of the 210 species, one of which is the Banana Quit or Sugarbird, as they are called. These little guys are always around and can be seen feeding on the sugar and jam that is put out for them during the day.
Escorted excursions into the rainforest can be arranged locally as well as other water sports such as kayaking being available from Blue Waters Inn.
Aqua Marine is a PADI Gold Palm facility conveniently located on premises of the Blue Waters Inn, catering to all levels of certifications and divers. Open 365 days a year with dive sites easily accessible just two to five minutes from the private dock. You’ll have two dives a day, returning in between for lunch. Night dives can also be arranged locally.
