A Wonderful Week Onboard Emperor Echo

Read on for a review from our customer, Bob Jones, who recently returned from a week onboard M/Y Emperor Echo exploring the Southern Red Sea. Lots of fun had by all!

  • On the 28 September, my son Dominic Jones and I set off from Sunny Uxbridge to Gatwick Airport for a great week on a liveaboard in the Red Sea. We flew out to Hurghada followed by an adventurous four-hour minibus ride down to Port Ghalib to board Emperor Echo.

After a couple of local dives, the following day we headed off on a 14 hour overnight boat trip down to St John's Reef, just north of the Sudan border.

  • Well, this is where it all started. Very large groups of dolphins one day and a group of 5 Oceanic White Tip sharks circling around us on the next day. Turtles, stacks of marine life and really exciting beautiful caves and pass throughs.

Dominic and I dived as a threesome with the excellent Sarah from Spain who we made friends with on board and usually followed the brilliant dive guide Hamada. He certainly knew the way around the caves and had a fantastic sense of humour, both above and below the sea.

  • As is usual, the crew were fun and helpful. The other divers were friendly, especially those from Australia and Belgium. Food was good and plentiful.

    A wonderful week.

Thanks for booking it for us at such short notice. After all we did take the last two places.
