Route Description - South Andaman Sea
The Andaman Sea showcases picturesque islands adorned with sweeping palm-fringed shores, alongside a captivating underwater world boasting breathtaking views, varied wildlife within verdant rainforests, and thriving local communities nestled amidst mangroves.
•Koh Haa Lagoon & The Chimney
Nestled within limestone towers, Koh Haa Lagoon offers calm conditions, coral gardens, and macro life like ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, and nudibranchs. Nearby, The Chimney at Koh Haa Neua features soft coral-covered outcrops, a vertical swim-through, and regular sightings of moray eels, stingrays, and the elusive tiger-tail seahorse.
•Koh Haa Yai – Twin Cathedral
This site is home to two partially submerged caverns known as the Twin Cathedral. With dramatic walls, vibrant soft corals, and sandy bottoms, it’s a hotspot for leopard sharks, stingrays, lobsters, and schooling barracuda.
•Hin Daeng & Hin Muang
Hin Daeng (“Red Rock”) and Hin Muang (“Purple Rock”) are world-class dive sites featuring steep walls, coral-covered pinnacles, and a wide range of pelagic and macro life. Manta rays and whale sharks are frequently seen during peak season (Feb–Apr), alongside reef sharks, ghost pipefish, and countless nudibranchs.
•Phi Phi Islands – Bida Nok & Bida Nai
These islands offer dramatic topography with caves, crevices, and reef slopes teeming with life. Leopard sharks, blacktip reef sharks, and Kuhl’s stingrays are common. Macro enthusiasts will find ghost pipefish, seahorses, and cuttlefish among the coral gardens.
•King Cruiser Wreck
This sunken car ferry has become an artificial reef rich with marine life, including trevallies, lionfish, nudibranchs, and occasional bamboo sharks. Though penetration is discouraged, the structure is ideal for exploration along the exterior.
•Shark Point (Hin Mu Sang)
Named after its regular leopard shark sightings, Shark Point consists of three coral-covered pinnacles brimming with reef fish, colorful soft corals, and unique critters like tiger-tail seahorses and ghost pipefish.
•Anemone Reef (Hin Jom)
A submerged pinnacle blanketed with sea anemones and teeming with life—from barracuda and clownfish to ornate ghost pipefish and occasional leopard sharks. This site is especially popular with photographers and marine life enthusiasts.
