Located just moments from Maya Port, it allows divers to easily connect with early morning boat transfers to the island, where most dive operations are based. This makes it especially convenient for overnight stays before or after liveaboards or dive trips.

Malapascua is internationally recognised for its unique encounters with thresher sharks at Monad Shoal, where early sunrise dives provide one of the only reliable opportunities in the world to see these graceful pelagic species. Beyond this highlight, sites like Gato Island offer dramatic underwater tunnels, reef sharks, and schools of fish, while surrounding reefs are rich in macro life, including nudibranchs, seahorses, and other small critters that attract underwater photographers.

The region also features a mix of dive conditions suitable for varying experience levels, from gentle reef dives to more advanced drift and deep dives. Visibility is generally good, and the marine biodiversity is impressive, combining colourful coral gardens with larger marine life encounters. For non-divers or those taking a break from diving, nearby islands such as Kalanggaman offer crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkelling.
