The Allegro Playacar is a fabulous, family-friendly All-Inclusive resort which sits on the Riviera Maya’s lush Caribbean coast, nestled in tropical greenery, straddling the pristine white sands of Mexico’s finest beach, Playa del Carmen. Perfectly positioned on a sun-drenched coastline that promises a fascinating blend of ancient culture, exotic landscape, water sport fun and unforgettable underwater adventure, this resort has got something for everyone and is a superb base to explore the best that the Riviera Maya has to offer.

Each of the 286 stylish and comfortable rooms are arranged across 38 Polynesian-style villas set within the beautiful, manicured gardens of the resort. Rooms are elegantly furnished with tasteful design and include lounge area, LED TV, free Wi-Fi, minibar, hairdryer and bathroom amenities. Enjoy a view of the lush, tropical landscape as you relax on your large balcony or terrace area and listen to the sounds of nature with the rustling sway of the palm trees. Family rooms are available and are designed to give you plenty of space across two rooms, each with its own bathroom.

The All-Inclusive meal plan gives you a chance to sample flavours from around the world, as well as local Mexican dishes. The Topaz restaurant is the resort’s main dining spot for breakfast and dinner and offers buffet-style cuisine in a laid-back environment, however, there is plenty of variety on offer around the resort with a further three restaurants and a pizzeria to choose from, including a pool-front Grill bar for relaxed outdoor lunch and snacks. Please note that A La Carte restaurants require reservation and dress codes may apply. The buzzy poolside bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a stunning view and soak up the Mexican vibe with a cocktail in hand, with three additional bars, each with a different ambience, dotted around the resort. The Disco Bar is the place to head for those looking for a knees-up after dark.

When you’re not lounging under palm trees, swimming in one of the resort’s three impressive pools, marvelling the incredible outlook of turquoise sea or exploring the treasures of the ocean floor, you can enjoy sumptuous indulgence and rejuvenation in the Zenserenz SPA for total relaxation with a wonderful array of full-body treatments. The centre also includes a dedicated Kids Spa to ensure that the whole family can enjoy a wellness treat with pampering. Or opt for one of the many water sports on offer from the comfort of the resort, including sailing, kayaking and fishing. The premium superior rooms are located closer to the pool and beach with beautiful views of either. This room is ideal for families with a maximum occupation of 3 adults and 1 child or 2 adults and 2 children.

Allegro Playacar's All-Inclusive package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, unlimited snacks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages with a wide selection of premium brands. Breakfast and dinner are served in the Topaz restaurant with themed buffets in a relaxed setting. Lunch is served outside in the the resort’s beachfront Grill restaurant from 12:00 to 16:00, with a further option of the pizzeria serving delicious, freshly-made pizzas until 18:00. Over a 7-night stay, guests can make one reservation at each of the A La Carte restaurants – O Sole Mio for Italian cuisine, Cielito Lindo for Mexican Fare or the Fuji restaurant for a gastronomic array of East Asian offerings.

Located on the beachfront of the neighbouring resort, Royal Hideaway, the centre is open 7 days a week from 08:00-17:00 (including public holidays) and has a fully equipped diving boat ready to transport divers to world-famed sites just a short 5–10 minute boat ride away. Dive depths range from 10-40m with all dives being led by fully certified Instructors who take great pride in showcasing the local reefs of Playa Del Carmen and beyond. Local sites are home to turtles, moray eels, stingrays, angelfish and many more, while the nearby wreck of Mama Vina has been colonised by schools for barracuda. Bull Sharks visit the warm waters every winter to raise their offspring with regular sightings throughout December to March. Dive and snorkel excursions to the Cenotes can also be organised from the centre, as well as seasonal bull shark diving or trips to the fascinating underwater museum of MUSA.

Playacar is a desirable resort area within a gated community located in the Riviera Maya, on the south side of Playa del Carmen, in Quintana Roo state, southeasterrn Mexico. The spectacular ruins of Tulum are 87km away and the paradise island of Cozumel can be reached by regular passenger ferry service from the nearby Playa del Carmen ferry terminal. Playacar beach is one of the most premium stretches in the Rivera Maya, its wide expanse leads a sense of tranquility rather than overcrowding. The shallow and calm waters are home to spectacular reefs with their colourful corals, abundance of marine species and the chance to see migrating bull sharks during the months of December to March.

Whilst Mexico has a year-round warm and tropical climate with average air temperatures of 26°c, it has two defined seasons - a wet season and dry season. The dry season runs from November to May with little rainfall and 12 to 14 hours of sunshine per day. The wet season brings humidity and short, sharp tropical rainstorms with September being the wettest month. Mexico's official hurricane season runs from June to November with the highest risk of storms from mid-August through September.

Mexico's waters remain consistently warm throughout the year with the Caribbean sea averaging temperatures between 25°c in winter and 28°c in summer. Visibility is excellent all year round.

Regular direct flights operate from London and Manchester to Cancun International Airport (CUN) with an approximate 10-hour flight time. The resort is located in Playacar, Playa Del Carmen - a 45-minute ride away.

Tourists do not need a visa to enter Mexico but will receive a passport stamp with the number of permitted days, which will need to be presented when leaving the country. All passports should be valid for the trip duration.
