Diving in Anilao is predominantly focused on macro life, with divers frequently spotting nudibranchs (over 600 species), pygmy seahorses, frogfish, and other rare creatures like the mimic octopus and rhinopias. However, it's not just about macro. The area also offers beautiful reefs, walls, caves, and wrecks. Divers may also encounter larger marine life such as rays, reef sharks, and schools of pelagic fish, making it suitable for both macro and wide-angle photography.

Dive boats are fast and are ideal for accessing multiple dive sites in a single day. The best diving conditions are from November to June, with the region’s warm water and excellent visibility offering a perfect diving environment year-round.

Late October to early June tends to be the most popular time however the critters and marine life are found here year-round. Visibility is around 15-25m, sometimes offering over 30m in certain areas.

Anilao in Batangas is known as one of the Philippines’ premier macro diving destinations, famous for its rich marine biodiversity, vibrant coral reefs, and excellent underwater visibility, making it a favourite spot for diving and snorkelling enthusiasts. Its coastal location offers easy access to world-class dive sites such as Cathedral Rock, Twin Rocks, and Koala, where divers can encounter nudibranchs, frogfish, sea snakes, turtles, and a wide variety of reef fish and coral formations. The area is also surrounded by scenic coastal views and relaxed beachfront resorts, making it an ideal escape just a few hours from Manila.

Travellers from the UK typically fly from London Heathrow, Gatwick, or Manchester to Manila, arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. There are no direct flights, so the journey usually includes one stop in major hubs such as Doha, Dubai, Singapore, or Istanbul. Total travel time is generally around 16 to 20 hours, depending on the airline and layover duration.

From Manila, guests continue with a domestic flight of around 1 hour, followed by a land transfer to Batangas. This usually involves a private van or bus to Mabini, Batangas, taking approximately 3 to 4 hours by road. Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort is located in Anilao, Mabini, and final transfers are typically arranged by the resort or completed via local tricycle or van from the drop-off point.
