Meals are served in the resort’s open-air beachfront restaurant, offering scenic ocean and garden views, with the option to dine al fresco on the terrace or by the pool. The buffet-style dining features a mix of international and Indonesian cuisine, prepared with fresh local ingredients, and typically includes rice, vegetable and meat dishes, fish, soups, salads, and fresh fruit. Complimentary tea, coffee, and mineral water are available throughout the day, while drinks such as soft drinks, juices, wine, and beer can be purchased separately. Murex Manado Resort offers a comprehensive and highly regarded diving programme focused on the rich underwater environments of Manado Bay and the nearby Bunaken Marine Park. The resort’s dive centre is a PADI 5-Star facility with decades of experience guiding divers in the region. Its team of dive professionals are trained in both diving skills and marine biology, providing knowledgeable and engaging guidance for guests of all levels.

Daily dive operations generally include two morning boat dives to sites within Bunaken Marine Park, renowned for its dramatic coral walls, abundant reef fish, turtles, and diverse marine life, followed by an optional third afternoon dive around the varied muck and reef sites of Manado Bay. The resort’s dive boats are purpose-built for comfort and safety, featuring shaded areas, fresh water rinse boxes for cameras, individual tank holders, and amenities such as refreshments and towels on board.

In addition to boat diving, Murex Manado provides exceptional house reef diving just steps from the beachfront, allowing certified divers, freedivers, and snorkellers to explore the reef independently after an initial guided dive. Night and blackwater dives are also available, offering the chance to encounter nocturnal species and plankton-attracting marine life that only appear after dark. The dive centre also offers the full range of PADI courses, from introductory experiences and Open Water certification to advanced specialties and leadership training, catering to divers of all skill levels.

North Sulawesi is a province located at the northern tip of the island of Sulawesi, Manado is the capital city. Land and sea temperatures remain quite consistent all year. Visibility can go to 50m and is best in the dry season from May to October as may be affected by heavy rain, however diving can be good all year round.

An abundance of marine life including turtles can be seen throughout the year, along with a fantastic variety of critters and macro with resident dolphin and pilot whale pods and the occasional dugong and seasonal sperm whale sighting.

The nearest airport to the resort is Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado. Transfers from the airport to the resort are included within the package and typically take around one hour, providing a smooth and comfortable start to the stay.

A visa is required for entry into Indonesia. Visas can be obtained on arrival for 500,000 Indonesian rupiah (approximately £28) or applied for in advance through the official Indonesian e-visa portal: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ . Visas are valid for 30 days, ensuring a hassle-free entry for the duration of the trip.
