About Marsa Nakari:

Marsa Nakari is a charming village featuring a sheltered bay just under an hour from Marsa Alam airport. It's small, quiet, and remote with a fantastic house reef just minutes from the shore. Unlimited diving, peace and tranquillity. The perfect mixture for a perfect dive holiday.

This unique village also gives divers exclusive access to many outstanding off shore reefs, and benefits from an extensive and diverse house reef with hard and soft corals of offshore quality.

About the house reef:

The house reef at Marsa Nakari has a very interesting landscape, providing a home to some very diverse marine life.

The Marsa itself (bay) is often home to schooling barracuda, a shoal of feeding Spanish mackerel, and some rather bizarre formation forming squid. The centre of the Marsa of the drops down to around 18m where you will find a bed of seagrass (if the dugong hasn’t found it first) that can host all number of critters including seahorses.

To the north of the fringe reef you follow a gentle sloping wall takes you from the surface to around 40m. Fabulous corals can be found here, and you will often see schooling fish in great numbers. Between 12m – 20m there are some beautiful patches of anemones home to much loved clown fish.

To the south of the house reef the landscape becomes a little more chaotic with plenty of canyons and pillars to explore, here you are likely to see morays, groupers, and everyone’s favourite, turtles. The south is also very good for photography with small clusters of reefs on pure white sand at around 12m, and the tops of the canyons capturing beautiful light at 12m – 6m.

The house reef can be entered and exited from the shore, and you really must take advantage of the complimentary zodiacs that are available to you throughout the day for pick up and drop offs to ensure that you explore it in its entirety.

The standard diving package at Marsa Nakari in unlimited and unguided house reef in buddy pairs. The house is open from 7am until 8pm. Included within your standard dive package are 2 orientation dives on your first day.
